Sexual medicines among items seized during DBKL op on business premises

DBKL officers conducting checks on businesses along Jalan Haji Taib in Chow Kit on Jan 6-7.

SEXUAL medicines were among the items confiscated by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) during an operation on business premises on Jalan Haji Taib in Chow Kit last weekend.

DBKL posted on its Facebook page that a total of 131 staff members led by DBKL enforcement director Noor Azman Mahlin had checked on over 200 business premises between 9pm on Jan 6 and 1am on Jan 7.

Trading items were confiscated from 12 businesses for failing to display business licences and being manned by foreign workers without permission.

Out of the 12 businesses, nine sold second-hand items, two sold food items and one sold sexual medicines.

All confiscated items have been sent to the DBKL store on Jalan Lombong in Taman Miharja, Cheras for storage and documentation purposes.

DBKL reminded all business licence holders to ensure that all conditions stated in the licence were followed, including the time and location.

The post also explained that approval from the authorities was necessary before hiring helpers to run the businesses and stern action, which include cancellation of licence will be taken.
