THE Wesak Day celebration in Penang lasted from morning to the evening as devotees converged on various Buddhist temples and associations to offer prayers for the well-being and happiness of all sentient beings.

This year, a brightly-lit float procession made a comeback around the streets of George Town after three years. The devotees happily joined the procession to commemorate Lord Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and passing on to Nirvana.
