Seberang Prai City Council (MBSP) will reward ratepayers who pay up their assessment tax during its “Lets Pay MBSP Assessment Tax 2023 & Win” promotion.
Mayor Datuk Azhar Arshad said 40 prizes were in store for participants, subject to fulfilling the conditions.
The promotion starts on Dec 1 and will end on Feb 28, 2023.
“This promotion is an ongoing incentive and encouragement to people of Seberang Prai to pay their assessment tax and clear arrears within the stipulated period,” said Azhar.
He said assessment tax for 2023 must be paid in full along with arrears, if any, through online channels, kiosks or appointed collection agencies only.
“Payments made at MBSP payment counters including branch counters are not eligible for the promotion,” he said in his speech during the full council meeting held at MBSP headquarters in Bandar Perda, Bukit Mertajam in Penang.
The first-prize winner will take home RM8,888 cash, followed by RM5,000 as second prize and RM4,000 as third prize.
The fourth and fifth prize winners will receive RM3,000 and RM2,000 in cash respectively.
Various other prizes await winners placed the sixth to the 30th.
The list of approved online payment channels includes ASPIRE Seberang Prai mobile application or https://aspire.mbsp.gov.my; MBSP website at https://mbsppay.mbsp.gov.my; Portal eBayar Penang at https://ebayar.penang.gov.my; and Portal KPKT at https://pbtpay.kpkt.gov.my.
Internet banking is available via 12 channels, namely Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd, Maybank, Ambank, RHB, BSN, Affin, Public Bank, Bank Muamalat, CIMB, HSBC, MBF Cards (Ambank) and Jompay at www.jompay.com.my
Other payment modes include Kiosk Payquik (PayLink Global) all over the country; Boost application; Shopee; Touch n Go eWallet; all 7-Eleven outlets in the country and Pos Online at www.posonline.com.my
The list of collection agency counters appointed by MBSP includes Penang Island City Council, Bank Rakyat, Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP), Pos Malaysia (Penang state only).
Azhar said winners would be selected randomly through a special online system after the full council meeting in March 2023.
