THERE will be no more walk-ins for Selangor folk wanting to get their free Covid-19 booster vaccine jabs under the Selvax Booster programme due to the high number of requests, says the Selangor government.
Instead, state public health, unity, women empowerment and family committee chairman Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said the public would need to book an appointment via the Selangkah app to get their free booster jabs.
"There will only be 150 slots available at each Selcare clinic offering the booster doses.
"They will also need to use voucher code to book a slot via the app," she said in a statement on Thursday (Dec 9).
This reverses an earlier announcement by the state government that Selangor residents would be able to walk into any Selcare clinic to get the booster shot starting Wednesday (Dec 8).
Now, users would need to input the voucher code specific to their preferred Selcare clinic after selecting an appointment time via the app, or would otherwise be charged for the vaccine.
According to a post on Selangkah’s official social media page on Thursday (Dec 9), those who had successfully completed their booking would also need to bring along the confirmation slip (receipt) for their appointments.
The voucher codes were available on all of Selangkah’s social media platforms.
This follows confusion over people trying to book a slot for a free booster dose via the Selangkah app, but were asked to pay for the vaccine.
On Tuesday (Dec 7), the state government announced that it was offering free Sinovac booster jabs to Selangor folk, regardless of whether or not they were previously recipients under the Selvax programme.
Some 157,000 Sinovac booster doses had been allocated for the first phase under the state government’s Selvax vaccination programme for those who had completed their first two Covid-19 vaccination doses.
