ISKANDAR PUTERI: The state government is volunteering to lead the way in strengthening tripartite connection between the government, education institutions and industry players in order to better prepare future human capital to adapt to the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0).
Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal said human capital was the most valuable resource and could ensure the stability and economic growth of a country.
“The most important asset to any country in the world is its people who could be nurtured and groomed in terms of intellectual ability and skills to benefit the country.
“So in order to have high-quality human capital, we, the government, educational institutions and industry players must work together even more than before.
“We can produce a workforce that understands the needs of today’s industry,” he said at the closing ceremony of Industry Synergy 2019 at Iskandar Malaysia Studios here.
He added that the government would also provide Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for the people through short courses or full-time programmes.
Sahruddin also called upon industry players to provide training programmes to the public wanting to enhance their skills.
“The state government has also held fairs like Karnival Kerjaya Johor, Jelajah TVET Johor and Johor Upskilling and Reskilling programme that benefitted over 5,000 people,” he added.
