Filan captivating fans with his performance at the Elmina Lakeside Concert.

Westlife frontman Shane Filan thrilled fans with his appearance at the Elmina Lakeside Concert in Shah Alam.

The now solo artiste sang Beautiful in White and You Raise Me Up, and had the crowd singing along to other well-known Westlife classics such as Uptown Girl, My Love, Swear It Again and If I Let You Go.

Namewee and Fazura were the other two headline acts for the night. The more than two-hour free concert, organised by Universal Music Malaysia and presented by Sime Darby Property, was attended by more than 10,000.

Local celebrity Fazura performed several songs, including Sayangi Dirimu, Bangun and her latest single Can’t Forget Me, accompanied by a live band.

The free concert was presented by Sime Darby Property.

She was later joined by her husband Fattah Amin, who also performed a song Isterimewa. The couple closed their set with a duet Paling Sempurna.

Musician-cum-filmmaker Namewee, who wore a bright orange beanie and his trademark sunglasses, entertained the crowd with a live band. He performed several hits, including the muhibbah anthem Ali, Ah Kau Dan Muthu and songs like The Rain in Ho Chi Minh, Thai Cha Cha and Makudonarudo, which featured elements from Vietnam, Thailand and Japan.

He had fans singing along to his chart-topper To The North, which was originally sung with Taiwanese-American singer-songwriter Wang Lee Hom.

“Lee Hom is not here tonight, so please sing his part,” Namewee told the audience.

Concert-goers were also entertained by Internet star PongPong, 11-year-old beatboxer Sawyer Leong and lawyer graduate turned violinist Josh Kua, who performed a medley of Westlife hits.

Emcees for the night were Jin Lim, better known as Jinnyboy, and Reem Shahwa.

The stage was situated on an island and the crowd watched from across the lake.

Screens were set up so the audience could watch the performances. PongPong and Kua, however, performed at a different stage.

There were hot air balloons, food trucks and other activities.
