Myanmar police seize 2.34mil stimulant pills and heroin

 

 

YANGON: Myanmar authorities have seized over 2.34 million stimulant tablets and 8.14 kg of heroin in central Myanmar's Mandalay region, the state-owned daily Myanma Alinn reported on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police raided a suspect's house in Yamethin township of Mandalay region on July 6 and confiscated the stimulant tablets, the report said.

According to the investigation, two additional suspects involved in the drug trafficking were arrested on July 7, it said.

In a separate operation on the same day, two more suspects were arrested with 8.14 kg of heroin in Pyawbwe town in Mandalay region, it added.
