Group of NGOs pushing for preservation of Bukit Berapit underground passageways

SEVERAL tourism and heritage non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have suggested that the state government turn the century-old tunnels at the railway tracks near Bukit Berapit into a tourist attraction.

Kuala Kangsar Tourism Development Association chairman Siti Norlizawati Narawi said the three tunnels along the Bukit Gantang-Taiping route began construction in 1890, before operating in 1903.
