Pokemon fans will have plenty of exciting new experiences to look forward to on their next visit to Universal Studios Japan (USJ). Actually, not just the one in Osaka, but in other countries, too.
The theme park recently announced that it is collaborating with The Pokemon Company on a new project: bringing Pokemon experiences that are more innovative and immersive.
“Since October 2021, USJ has been delivering Pokemon experiences such as parades and shows to guests from around the world,” said Tak Murayama, USJ executive vice president and general manager, in a press statement.
“A bold new global project is set to begin at USJ, creating unprecedented and innovative experiences in collaboration with Pokemon,” he added.
He also said that they are “proud to launch this journey from Japan” and “believe this global project will transcend traditional entertainment and contribute meaningfully to society”.
Once the project makes its debut in Japan, Universal Destinations & Experiences – the theme park unit of Comcast NBCUniversal – will deliver the “unique Pokemon experiences across the company’s global footprint”.

The Pokemon Company has for the past five years worked together with the theme park to create various Pokemon experiences, which include the “No Limit!” parade and Halloween shows.
The company’s president and CEO, Tsunekazu Ishihara, said that they are “thrilled to launch this new project at such a significant milestone”, since Pokemon is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
As to what exactly this project is about, well ... that’s still under wraps. Details about it will only be announced at a later date.
As said by the CEO, the project aims to “enrich both the real and virtual worlds through Pokemon” and create theme park entertainment that will delight fans around the world.
