Subsided fares for flights to Sabah, Sarawak for Chinese New Year

In line with the Malaysian Government’s festive travel initiatives, Malaysia Airlines and its sister airline Firefly are offering all-in one-way subsidised fares from Kuala Lumpur to selected destinations in Sabah and Sarawak.

From Feb 13 to 16, during the Chinese New Year peak period, Malaysia Airlines will offer subsidised fares of up to RM569. The flight routes include Kota Kinabalu, Tawau and Sandakan in Sabah, as well as Kuching, Miri, Sibu and Bintulu in Sarawak.

Firefly’s subsidised fares of up to RM548 will include flights to KK, Tawau, Kuching and Sibu.

Bookings can be done via malaysiaairlines.com, fireflyz.com.my or the respective mobile apps.

For this year’s Chinese New Year, Malaysia Airlines and Firefly (both under the Malaysia Aviation Group) are set to operate more than 2,400 flights. These include up to 198 additional services to further strengthen connectivity during the festive travel period.

Meanwhile, AirAsia is set operate an average of 1,578 flights during both Chinese New Year and Hari Raya. It is also offering more than 31,000 seats at fixed fares.

AirAsia recently launched its yearly fixed fares initiative for both festive seasons. From now until Feb 24, booking can be done for travels from Feb 13 to 24, with tickets priced at RM328 all-in one way from KL to Kuching, Miri, Sibu and Bintulu. Tickets to KK, Tawau and Sandakan are priced at RM398.

Booking for Hari Raya can also be done from now until March 26, for travel from March 18 to 26. Flights from KL to Kuching, Miri, Sibu and Bintulu are set at RM328 all-in one-way, while flights to KK, Tawau and Sandakan are set at RM398 all-in one-wayFind out more at airasia.com or the AirAsia Move app.
