Claudia Mondragón Miranda, a mother of four, leaves her house early each day to begin work in the apple orchards. Returning nearly 12 hours later to cook and connect with her family at the end of the day is the highlight of motherhood for her, she said.

Her soon-to-be four-year-old son Erick always runs to greet her with a hug.
