Popular 1970s band Boney M is set to bring disco back to Malaysia as part of its 50th Anniversary Tour.

Scheduled for Jan 12 at Mega Star Arena in Kuala Lumpur, the upcoming concert promises an unforgettable night of timeless hits, infectious energy and electrifying moves.

Original Boney M member Maizie Williams will be leading an ensemble of performers for the KL show.

The story of Boney M began in 1974 when late German music producer Frank Farian released Baby Do You Wanna Bump under that pseudonym.

After the song became a hit, Farian decided to hire four performers to create a troupe for TV appearances – Williams, Marcia Barrett, Liz Mitchell and the late Bobby Farrell.

Throughout its decades-long career, Boney M has sold millions of records worldwide and is known for hits such as Daddy Cool, Sunny, Rasputin and more.

Tickets for Boney M’s 50th Anniversary Tour in KL, priced between RM188 and RM688, will be available from noon on Nov 15 at www.ticketingtix.com and www.frontrow.asia.
