While most people are content with a single driving licence, and a second would already be noteworthy, Hong Kong actor Danny Hung has gone far beyond the norm with an incredible collection of 10 licences.

In an Instagram post earlier this February, the 28-year-old revealed that he owns licences for private cars, light goods vehicles, motorcycles, private and public light buses, private buses, medium and heavy goods vehicles, motor tricycles, as well as a taxi driver’s licence.

Even more remarkably, he passed every driving test on his first attempt.

At a recent event, Hung revealed that his passion for obtaining driving licences has nothing to do with a career change or financial hardship.

Instead, he has been acquiring them in preparation for a reality show centred on construction sites.

“Since I graduated from a construction engineering programme, I was invited to host the show.

“At the time, Hong Kong’s property and infrastructure sectors were thriving, so I felt there would always be job opportunities in the field,” the TVB star said.

Hung revealed that he draws inspiration from American superstar Tom Cruise, who also owns a wide range of licences, including those for motorcycles, aircraft and boats.

He added that he wants to get a fitness instructor certification, a diving license and a helicopter pilot’s license next.

“There’s always something new to learn. I’m constantly looking to broaden my knowledge.

“I want to get a helicopter pilot’s license, but the training costs hundreds of thousands of dollars. It’s a goal I want to work towards.”
