BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Royal Patron of the Royal Brunei Polo Association (RBPA), led a recreational horse ride on Sunday (July 19) in conjunction with His Majesty’s 80th birthday celebration.
The event, organised by the RBPA, marked the fourth edition of the recreational ride.
Upon arrival at the Jerudong Park Polo and Riding Club, His Majesty was welcomed by RBPA Chairman Major General (Rtd) Ibnu Basit Apong.
His Majesty then consented to join a group photograph before beginning the ride.
Accompanying His Majesty during the ride were Prince ‘Abdul Mateen, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Prince Jefri Bolkiah; Princess ‘Azemah Ni’matul Bolkiah, President of the Royal Brunei Polo Association; and Princess Fadzilah Lubabul Bolkiah.
The ride, participated by veteran and current polo players, began from Field Number 1 of the Jerudong Park Polo and Riding Club.
His Majesty and members of the Royal Family rode along Jerudong Beach and passed the Jerudong Fish Market, where members of the public gathered to greet the monarch and the royal entourage. The monarch then proceeded along Siandang Beach in Jerudong before heading to The Empire Brunei.
The ride continued to Pantai Restaurant at The Empire Brunei, where His Majesty was greeted by Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; Prince ‘Abdul Malik, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; Pengiran Anak Isteri Anisha Rosnah binti Adam; Prince Sufri Bolkiah; Prince Jefri Bolkiah; Princess ‘Azemah Ni’matul Bolkiah; Princess Fadzilah Lubabul Bolkiah; Pengiran Anak Zahra Mariam Bolkiah; and Pengiran Anak Daniya Rahmatul Bolkiah.
