Brunei marks Sultan's 80th birthday with grand ceremonial parade


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Xinhua): Brunei celebrated the 80th birthday of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah with a grand ceremonial parade held this week in the capital city.

State dignitaries, grassroots leaders and other distinguished guests dressed in traditional attire attended the parade.

Personnel from the Royal Brunei Land Force, Royal Brunei Navy, Royal Brunei Air Force, Royal Brunei Police Force, and members of uniformed government departments and associations were inspected by Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah.

Following the parade, the celebrations continued at Istana Nurul Iman, where the Sultan conferred state honors and decorations in recognition of distinguished service and contributions to the nation. -- XInhua
