Sultan of Brunei visits former prime minister Dr M at IJN

KUALA LUMPUR: Sultan of Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah visited former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad at the National Heart Institute (IJN) on Sunday (Oct 4).

Dr Mahathir shared photos from the visit on his official social media account on Monday (Oct 5).

In the post, he said His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah graciously visited and spent time with him at IJN in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday (Oct 5).

Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah was in Malaysia for a special visit in conjunction with the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit.

Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah attended the grand prix with His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, and top leaders of Malaysia, Bahrain and Brunei to witness the return of the F1 race to Sepang after a nine-year absence.

Dr Mahathir was admitted to IJN on Sept 29 for observation, with his family saying there was no cause for concern over his condition.

The 101-year-old statesman was admitted so doctors could monitor him following the death of his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, on Sept 28.
