Brunei's Tutong District prepares for royal ceremony

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The get-together ceremony with the Tutong District residents in conjunction with Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah's 80th birthday celebration is set to take place on July 22 at the field of the Community Hall Complex in the Tutong District.

Tutong District will be the first district to host the get-together ceremony this year and to ensure the smooth running of the ceremony, a full dress rehearsal was held Saturday morning (July 18).

Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara Idris Abdul Kahar, as Co-Advisor of the National Committee for His Majesty’s 80th Birthday Celebration 2026, was present to oversee the rehearsal.

Coordinating Minister for Social Policies and Manpower and Minister of Home Affairs Datuk Seri Setia Ahmaddin Abdul Rahman and Minister of Health Datuk Seri Setia Dr Mohd Isham Jaafar as Co-Chairpersons of the National Committee, alongside Acting Grand Chamberlain from the Office of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam Raffizanna Razali as Deputy Co-Chairperson of the National Committee, were also present.

The full dress rehearsal was also attended by the permanent secretaries of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA), the acting permanent secretary of the Ministry of Health, the deputy permanent secretary of the MoHA, the deputy permanent secretary of the Ministry of Development, acting district officers and members of the Organising Committee for the 80th Birthday Celebration of His Majesty. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
