India-Myanmar-Thailand trilateral highway connecting Asean paralysed by conflict


PHNOM PENH: The India-Myanmar-Thailand Trilateral Highway aimed at enhancing Asean economic integration and expanding Indian influence in trade and commerce within South-East Asia continues to face hurdles.

The ambitious 1,360-kilometre highway, initiated in Yangon in April 2002, is saddled with problems as it passes through conflict-prone Myanmar’s territory.
