Celebrating Fiji’s pottery

Few have heard of Fiji’s terracotta pottery, fewer still have witnessed how Fijians make their earthenware. It’s quite an experience.

FIJIAN terracotta pottery has fascinated me ever since I first saw these pots – and bought one – in a fete in Suva some seven years ago. I then learned that this very ancient art form has long been in decline.
