ALLIANCE Bank Malaysia Bhd has launched the enhanced Alliance Bank Visa Virtual Credit Card (VCC), delivering a fully digital credit card experience with real-time control, enhanced security and instant rewards at the point of spend.

The launch was held on July 31 at Sunway Pyramid, as part of the Alliance Bank x Sayang Green 2.0 activation event running from July 31 to Aug 2.

Enhanced features

Building on its existing suite of digital tools, the bank introduced several new features to enhance the Visa VCC experience.

At the same time, a new Supplementary Visa VCC feature now allows cardholders to extend controlled spending access to up to five family members, enabling shared spending with defined limits and full account visibility through the allianceonline mobile app.

Apart from these enhancements, the enhanced Visa VCC also features instant reward redemption at the point of purchase, granting cardholders real-time access to benefits across more than 60 participating merchants. This replaces the traditional points-accumulation model with immediate, tangible rewards.

While introducing new enhancements to elevate the Visa VCC experience, the bank remains committed to its core promise of security and convenience.

These enhancements include features such as dynamic card numbers that generate unique one-time and subscription-based virtual card numbers for each transaction, Flexi Payment Plans for up to 12 months and a Freeze and Unfreeze function that allows cardholders to suspend or reactivate their virtual card instantly through the allianceonline mobile app.

These features empower Visa VCC cardholders to customise and control how, when and where they spend.

“At Alliance Bank, our vision is to be ‘The Bank For Life’ and that means being relevant to consumer lifestyles,” said Alliance Bank group chief consumer banking officer Gan Pai Li.

“Today, convenient payment methods have become a lifestyle habit. We believe banking should evolve with lifestyles and not the other way around.

“Hence, we will continue to enhance our Visa VCC. This reflects our commitment to bringing together secure, convenient and rewarding features that fit effortlessly into everyday life.”

It has also been recognised as an Asia Records and Asean Records holder for the “First Bank-Issued Full-Fledged Virtual Credit Card System with Dynamic Subscription and One-Time Card Number Under a Single Cardholder.”

New ambassadors

During the product launch, Alliance Bank unveiled two new ambassadors, Chan Fong, one of Malaysia’s most recognised Chinese media personalities and Perry Kuan, a dynamic entrepreneur, international DJ, content creator and avid pickleball enthusiast who has built a strong following through his achievements across business, music, and lifestyle.

Together, the ambassadors will spearhead the campaign and demonstrate how the Visa VCC seamlessly integrates into modern lifestyle spending and digital payments for everyday consumers, reinforcing the card’s three core pillars: advanced, convenient, and secure.

Speaking about his role as a Visa VCC ambassador, Kuan shared, "Most of my daily activities happen online, from shopping and subscriptions to travel bookings.

“Having a Visa VCC gives me greater confidence because I know my online transactions are protected. It's fast, convenient and fits perfectly into the way we live today."

Highlighting how the Visa VCC complements today’s digital lifestyle, Chan added, "Over the years, I've seen how payment methods have evolved from cash to cards and now digital solutions.

“What matters most to me is security and control. Alliance Bank's Visa VCC offers both, making online spending safer and easier for everyone, regardless of age or digital proficiency.”

Customers who purchase any Apple products at any Machine, Switch, UR by Switch and Thunder Match outlets with the 0% Instalment Payment Plan will receive RM200 off when they spend a minimum of RM3,000 using their Alliance Bank Visa VCC.

Additionally, Apple Pay support for the bank's Visa VCC will officially be available starting Aug 4.

Green experience

The Enhanced Visa VCC launch is being held in conjunction with the Alliance Bank x Sayang Green 2.0 initiative, a consumer-facing programme that encourages Malaysians to move beyond awareness and take practical, everyday steps towards more sustainable living.

Sayang Green 2.0 focuses on reducing waste at the source and cultivating conscious lifestyle habits.

By eliminating the need for a physical card and reducing paper-based processes, the enhanced Visa VCC underscores the bank’s commitment to low-carbon, sustainable banking experiences.

This experience is further supported by a fully digital application process, seamless mobile payment integration and instant access to virtual card numbers, aligning with a new generation of consumers who value both digital convenience and responsible consumption.

The three-day event at Sunway Pyramid will also feature the media launch and ambassador appearances on July 31 at 2.30 pm, interactive activities and live rewards redemption experiences.

Visitors can also sign up for the Visa VCC at the dedicated application booth and explore sustainable products and lifestyle solutions showcased by Sayang Green partners, including Earthya, Elexer, Plus Xnergy, ZP, Bio-Home, NooTrees and Aragvi.
