Ben Amir, the lead actor for “Legasi: Bomba The Movie”, unveiled the unnamed smartphone to the crowds at the National Day Parade on August 31.
THE buff firefighters fondly known as “abang bomba” are among the popular highlights of each National Day parade.
This year, alongside the beloved firefighters, Malaysia’s first firefighter-themed movie “Legasi: Bomba The Movie” lead actor Ben Amir also joined the parade, stealing the spotlight during the celebration.
The actor’s appearance sparked enthusiastic reactions from the crowds, but he wasn’t the only one catching the people’s attention.
Standing on a fire truck, he unveiled a mysterious red-backed HONOR smartphone to the crowd as part of the movie’s promotion—produced in collaboration with HONOR.
Sporting a striking red leather design, the phone is reminiscent of the firefighter’s uniforms that make them known as “Wira Merah” (Red Heroes).
First seen in “Legasi: Bomba The Movie”, the phone was reported to be an unreleased HONOR smartphone to be launched in the Malaysian market.
Ben commented that the phone’s striking red leather design made him think of “Wira Merah”, which felt like a tribute to the national heroes fighting on the front lines.
“My first impression of this phone is that it’s extremely tough and reliable—just like the high-pressure environments we face daily, it needs to withstand challenges.
“I feel incredibly honoured to participate in such a display as a firefighter on National Day,” said Ben.
HONOR remains focused on building devices that are reliable and resilient, designed to endure even in demanding conditions.
This dedication reflects the same spirit embodied by firefighters—steadfast in their duty and unyielding in the face of challenges—while also highlighting how national values and technological progress can come together
HONOR announced that the phone will be released soon.
