Haier inspires future dreams with badminton aces

ELECTRICAL appliances supplier Haier has unveiled its Inspire Future Dreams campaign, featuring 2022 BWF World Championships men's doubles champion Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik as its Malaysian brand ambassadors.

The partnership with Chia and Soh aims to inspire all Malaysians and instil in them the belief that “everything is possible if you work hard, and that success is a continuous journey.”

On the international stage, Haier has been recognised by the Euromonitor International Limited as the global No.1 major appliance brand for 14 consecutive years since 2009.

Haier Malaysia has been offering innovative and quality home appliances to the Malaysian market with “Inspired Living” as its brand philosophy.

It received the Superbrands Malaysia award in 2021 and recently won silver in the personal, household and outdoor appliances category of the Putra Aria Brand Awards 2022.

At the launch of the campaign at its new office at the Puchong Financial Corporate Centre in Selangor, Haier Malaysia managing director Fan Jing shared that his team had gone to great lengths for the brand’s current achievement, attributing the success to its “Rendanheyi” philosophy – loosely translated as “integration of people and goals” – whereby employees are empowered to make decisions to create value for its consumers.

Haier Malaysia recorded a groundbreaking 33% sales growth last year compared to 2021.

“This reflects our consumers’ support for Haier. We will strive to provide the best home appliances to Malaysians, and we will invest strategically to strengthen our brand stature in Malaysia,” said Fan.

“We are excited to have Chia and Soh as part of the Haier family. They worked hard to be winners. They never stop pushing, they never stop working. They are a source of inspiration to all of us and we look forward to achieving greater heights together.”

Speaking to reporters later, Fan said: “Our products are available in 1,500 electrical shops and 30 Haier brand shops nationwide. We offer innovative products for healthy living as consumers are now health-conscious following the pandemic.”

Under its Inspire Future Dreams campaign, Haier is set to release a brand TV commercial, in-store marketing materials, display corners and others – featuring Chia and Soh.

“We are glad that we can inspire Malaysians, especially the younger generation, to be ambitious and do well in their lives,” said Soh.

“You can achieve greater heights if you put in hard work and set clear goals,” Chia added.

Recognising Malaysians’ passion for badminton, Haier will be staging the Haier Cup badminton competition in June 2023 for amateurs to showcase their talent.

In conjunction with the Hari Raya season, Haier’s Riuh Raya Bersama Haier campaign which runs till May 31 gives customers the chance to receive free gifts or TnG ewallet credit. There is also a spend and win contest for customers to win Haier products worth up to RM80,000.

Hi-tech appliances

Haier has 10 research centres around the world, with the main one in Qingdao, China. Its range of products include refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, residential and commercial air conditioners, TVs, kitchen appliances and water heaters.

International contract research organisation Texcell has certified that Haier's UV Cool range of air-conditioners effectively inhibits airborne viruses and bacteria up to 99% with its latest UV-C sterilisation technology.

Haier says its refrigerators come with its “Fresh Technology” that keeps food fresh for up to two times longer, reducing waste and spoilage.

Its washing machines’ I-Refresh function uses micro-vapour technology to eliminate odours and reduce wrinkles on clothes.

Haier’s extensive selection of commercial air conditioning solutions range from light commercial systems like cassette, duct and multi-split to MRV and chillers.

Haier Android TVs offer exceptional picture quality with their H QLED and Wide Colour Gamut technologies.

In 2019, Haier Malaysia introduced its line of kitchen appliances – kitchen hoods, gas hobs, electric hobs, ovens, among others.
