Eirzam ends country’s 11-year medal wait with silver in first Asian meet attempt


Rising star: Eirzam was only brought into the squad this year but has already made his presence felt at the Asian Championships.

PETALING JAYA: Rider Mohd Eirzam Eidham Che Mazri ended an 11-year medal drought for Malaysia in winning silver in the boys’ keirin event at the Asian Championships in Tagaytay, Philippines.

The youngster from Perak stole the show in his first international assignment for Malaysia by not just making it to the top six main final but ended up on the podium.
