WHO would have expected at the beginning of the new year that two sports very close to the hearts of Malaysians would be rocked by match-fixing allegations?

Last week, the Badminton World Federation (BWF) made it known that they were investigating two Malaysian players, who are not part of the Badminton Association of Malaysia’s (BAM) stable, for alleged match-fixing. Both are believed to be independent players.
