Ringo rings the changes and Kar Gee’s improving by leaps and bounds


Going great guns: Jonathan Wong Kar Gee is now ranked third in the world in the T12 long jump event, thanks to his former teacher cum coach Ringo Yee Kok Wai.

KUALA LUMPUR: From a state long jumper to an Olympian, para athlete Jonathan Wong Kar Gee has only his coach Ringo Yee Kok Wai to thank for.

And as a token of appreciation for the coach’s tireless service all these years, the 28-year-old Kar Gee has promised to leap into a great start in 2020 by retaining the gold medal in the T12 (visual impairment) at the Philippines Asean Para Games from Jan 18-25 in Manila.
