Escalators operate upwards to manage ETS passenger arrival flow

KERETAPI Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) refers to the letter “Keep the escalators moving” published in The Star on May 19 (online at bit.ly/ 4nLyztt). We would like to address the concerns raised regarding escalator operations at KL Sentral following the arrival of ETS (Electric Train Service) passengers, as mentioned in the letter.

All escalators at the ETS arrival concourse in KL Sentral are currently in working order. However, upon the arrival of ETS passengers, the escalator is operated in the upward direction as part of passenger flow management measures to help prevent congestion at the exit area and automated control gate; this also enables better safety control and smoother passenger movement within the area.
