From "Look East" to "Look at each other": Japan-Malaysia partnerships driving growth, innovation and human capital development

IT has been a year and a half since I assumed my role as Japan’s ambassador to Malaysia, and I continue to be impressed by the country’s vitality, cultural diversity and deep affinity with my country.

Walking through local markets during Ramadan, savouring nasi lemak, mee goreng and other local delicacies, and interacting with students and business leaders reminded me daily of the human connections that form the foundation of our bilateral relationship.
