SUN bears do not typically wander out of the forest to enter residential villages.
Encounters with wild animals can be dangerous, especially with one that has left a trail of damage in its wake.

Verdict:

TRUE
The Terengganu Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) said it captured an adult male sun bear found roaming in Kampung Padang Ping, near Dungun.
Its director, Dennis Ten Choon Yung, said residents informed Perhilitan about the sun bear's presence at 8am on Aug 18.
A team from Perhilitan arrived at about 9.30am to monitor the animal.
He said the bear, which weighed between 50kg and 70kg, entered a trap set by Perhilitan on Monday.
The bear was in good health and did not have any injuries," said Ten in a statement on Aug 19.
He said the relocation operation began at 10am and the bear was taken to the Dungun Wildlife Department office before being released into its original habitat.
He said the nearest protected forest area to the village was the Jerangau Forest Reserve.
Meanwhile, Kampung Padang Ping Village Development and Security Committee chairman Nik Othman Nik Muhamad said more than 300 residents were relieved after the bear was successfully captured.
He said the bear had been roaming around the village for about a week and residents had been worried about their safety.
The bear also damaged some trees and fruits in the gardens before it was captured.
"The animal is believed to have come out from the nearby forest area to search for food in this village," he added.
