Road rage can come in many forms.

Was a parked car's tyre slashed at the Penang Hospital for blocking traffic?

VERDICT:

TRUE

The recent incident of a car tyre being slashed at the Penang Hospital has gone viral, with many having mixed reactions.

While some people online have cautioned those who block lanes when parking, others shared concern for those rushing for a hospital appointment.

The photos of the stab marks on the damaged tyres shared on social media appear to be made with a knife, causing further concern online.

Social media user @Hanna Raihana said the person who parked near the maternity ward might have been rushing to see their wife.

"There are always guards along that stretch, and it is near the maternity ward.

"Maybe the person was there to see or fetch their wife.

"It might have been an emergency.

"I am sure there is CCTV footage and the culprit must be caught," she said.

Another user, @Mohd Zainal, said while it was wrong to slash someone's tyres, the person parked in a spot that would obstruct traffic flow in the hospital compound.

"One cannot stop there for long as it will cause congestion.

"Many park far away and walk to the hospital for their appointments.

"While slashing someone's tyres is wrong, both parties are at fault here," he said.

The incident is believed to have happened last week and a police report has been made.

Penang Hospital director Dr Goh Hin Kwang when contacted on Tuesday (Aug 18) said he was aware of the incident.

"The case is still under investigation by the police.

"We have limited information so far on the incident, we will provide our full cooperation," he said.
