A HOSPITAL ceiling is the last thing anyone expects to come down while waiting for treatment.
An incident at the emergency department of Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR) in Klang on Tuesday (Oct 20) evening has put that worry in the spotlight.
Did part of the ceiling collapse at HTAR's emergency department in Klang?
Verdict:

TRUE
A section of the ceiling at HTAR's Emergency and Trauma Department did collapse, the Selangor Health Department has confirmed.
In a statement on Wednesday (Oct 21), the health department said the section along the hospital's walkway in front of the department's Blue Zone came down at about 7.15pm on Tuesday (Oct 20).
"Preliminary investigations found that the incident was caused by a leaking pipe in the ceiling, which had weakened the structure.
"No untoward incidents involving patients or hospital staff were reported.
"Following the incident, safety measures have been immediately implemented, including cordoning off the affected area and activating alternative routes for the movement of patients and staff at the department," said the Selangor Health Department.
It said the concessionaire carried out cleaning and repair work, as well as a detailed technical investigation, to ensure the safety of the surrounding area.
"The repair work has been completed and the affected walkway was reopened at 2.30am on Wednesday.
"The department continues to operate as usual without any disruption to its services.
"We remain committed to prioritising the safety of patients, visitors and healthcare personnel," it said.
