A 29-second video circulating on social media showed what appeared to be a crocodile at Tanjung Gemuk beach in Port Dickson late on Monday night, alarming beachgoers and local residents.
The person filming the video could be heard warning the local community to stay alert.
Was a crocodile really spotted at a beach in Port Dickson?
Verdict:

TRUE
The video, believed to have been recorded at around 11.45pm on Monday, shows what is believed to be a crocodile at Tanjung Gemuk beach, apparently attacking a dog.
"There's a crocodile that has come ashore at Tanjung Gemuk beach. Be careful, villagers," the person filming the video said.
The Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) Negeri Sembilan director Faizal Izham Pikri said the department would carry out further investigations to establish the actual circumstances of the incident.
He said no individual had come forward to lodge a complaint with Perhilitan about the presence of the reptile, and that the department only became aware of it after the video went viral.
"Tonight, Perhilitan personnel will go to the location to carry out monitoring and further checks," he told Sinar Harian on Tuesday (July 7).
The BUT in this verdict reflects the fact that Perhilitan had not yet completed its on-the-ground investigation at the time of reporting, meaning the full circumstances of the sighting had not been officially confirmed.
Faizal advised the public not to approach or disturb wild animals if they encountered one.
"Instead, the public is asked to immediately notify Perhilitan or the relevant authorities to enable appropriate action to be taken and to avoid any untoward incidents," he said.
