A 12-second video has been circulating on social media, showing a Rapid KL bus knocking into the back of a car at a traffic light.
In the video dated March 11 this year, the bus is seen slowing down but failing to stop in time to avoid hitting the car's rear.

In a statement on Thursday (April 16), Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd said it had taken the necessary measures following the incident along route 652 (Awan Besar Station–Jalan Klang Lama), which occurred at the Kuchai Lama traffic light intersection heading towards Awan Besar Station on March 11, 2026, as seen on social media.
“An internal investigation was conducted after the incident was reported.
“The bus captain involved has been suspended from operational duties for the duration of the investigation.
“This is to ensure a smooth and thorough investigation.
“Based on the results of the investigation, appropriate action has been taken in accordance with established standard operating procedures,” it said.
The company added that since the incident in March, Rapid Bus has been in contact with, and is working closely with, the driver of the car involved to assist him with the necessary follow-up steps.
“The safety of passengers and road users is always a priority, and Rapid Bus is committed to ensuring compliance with safety standards in every aspect of its operations,” it said.
