A brawl involving men armed with machetes and wooden clubs broke out on Jalan Waja, Telok Panglima Garang in Kuala Langat on Monday (March 23), with a video of the incident going viral after it was filmed by a passing road user.
The fight is believed to have stemmed from a misunderstanding between motorcyclists on the road.
Kuala Langat acting district police chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Sufian Amin said police received a report at 2.51pm from a man who heard a commotion in front of his house.
He said the complainant went outside and found his uncle holding a machete and surrounded by several unidentified individuals who were attempting to attack him.
"Two men holding wooden clubs and one man armed with a parang, aged between 39 and 45, who were involved in the case were successfully arrested.
"Weapons and other items linked to the incident were also confiscated for further investigation," he said in a statement on Tuesday (March 24).
Mohd Sufian said efforts to track down and arrest suspects who remained at large were actively ongoing.
He said the case was being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison, a fine, or both upon conviction.
He also urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward at the nearest police station or contact the Kuala Langat District Police Headquarters Operations Room at 03-31872222.
