WHEN in trouble, you don't just need a good lawyer – you need a great one. In a world where legal issues are increasingly complex and high-stakes, the difference between "good" and "great" can determine not only the outcome of your case but also your peace of mind throughout the entire process.
But where can you find for one? For some people, the answer is social media… but are lawyers advertising on social media legitimate?
Verdict:

FALSE
According to a social media post by the Police Commercial Crime Investigation Department, there have been numerous advertisements recently on social media platforms by individuals claiming to be "lawyers" and offering services to help scam victims recover their losses.
It said most of these parties are scammers and aim to trap victims a second time, usually by requesting advance payment.
"Remember, money recovery is never guaranteed. Never make payments to unknown parties and always check the legitimacy of a lawyer before dealing with them," said the police.
The public can verify the legitimacy of a lawyer or law firm through the Malaysian Bar at: https://www.malaysianbar.org.my
"Don't be fooled. If you are a victim of a scam, report it immediately to the authorities for further action and assistance."
