A VIDEO of a man being beaten up by several individuals made the rounds on social media recently.
The incident was said to have taken place at a mosque in Kuala Kedah, Alor Setar and was due to an alleged robbery case.

Sinar Harian reported that Kota Setar OCPD Asst Comm Syed Basri Syed Ali has denied claims made in the viral video lasting approximately 20 seconds.
He said the incident in the clip, detected and uploaded by the Facebook account of Info Terkini 2026 with the title 'robbery case at Kuala Kedah Mosque', did not occur in the Kota Setar district.
According to him, further review and investigation found that no police report had been received regarding the incident at any location in this district, including at the Kuala Kedah mosque.
"The police would like to emphasise that the incident as shown in the viral video did not occur in the Kota Setar district," he said in a statement.
He reminded the public not to speculate or spread unverified information, as it can cause confusion and create anxiety among the community.
He added that spreading inaccurate content can affect public order and create an atmosphere of panic.
ACP Syed Basri also called on the public who have real information regarding the incident in the video to come forward to assist in the investigation by contacting the Kota Setar District Police Headquarters at 04-774 7222.
