QuickCheck: Has a statutory body appointed suppliers via non-official channels?

IN the world of business, official channels are crucial for maintaining transparency and trust.

Recently, rumours have circulated about a statutory body appointing suppliers through unofficial means.

But is there any truth to these claims, or is it just another misconception?

VERDICT:

FALSE

Following the spread of claims offering supply services using the name of Council Members and the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) logo, it has stated it has never appointed any supplier without using official Mara channels such as official emails.

“The public is advised to be cautious and not provide any personal information or be deceived by these irresponsible parties,” said Mara.

“For further information, please visit www.mara.gov.my or follow Mara's official social media page at https://www.facebook.com/MajlisAmanahRakyat,” it added in a post on its official Facebook account.
