TRUE

Police in Klang, Selangor, have arrested a 37-year-old man following an incident in which a car was allegedly driven deliberately into a motorcyclist at Jalan Dato Yusof Shahbudin 28, Bandar Sentosa.

The incident, which occurred on the night of April 26, quickly went viral after members of the public shared videos of the altercation on social media.

According to Klang Selatan police chief ACP Ramli Kasa, police received a call at 10.20pm reporting an argument between a car driver and a motorcyclist. "The suspect then honked at the motorcyclist, following which the motorcyclist chased after the driver and an argument broke out," said Ramli.

During the heated exchange, the motorcyclist reportedly struck the car’s windscreen with his helmet, prompting the driver to ram his vehicle into the victim, dragging the motorcycle under the car.

"The victim suffered injuries to both legs and shoulders while his left shoulder joint was dislocated. He is in stable condition," said Ramli.

After the collision, the suspect fled the scene, while the injured motorcyclist was taken to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang for treatment.

Police arrested the suspect at 1.15am in Klang.

"The 37-year-old man has four previous criminal records and has been remanded for four days until Wednesday (April 30)," Ramli added. An investigation paper has been opened under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder and will soon be referred to the deputy public prosecutor.

Ramli also urged the public not to share the video clip of the incident to avoid causing unnecessary concern within the community. The case has drawn significant attention due to the viral spread of footage showing the moment a man was struck by a red car.
