Klang Selatan OCPD Asst Comm Lim Jit Huey said police are tracking down several individuals, including a school student, believed to be involved in a fight at a public place in Klang Selatan.
He said the investigation was launched following a viral Facebook video showing two individuals fighting while being watched by a group of men.
"Police investigations found that the incident occurred at the parking area of the Pandamaran Sports Complex at about 1.20pm on July 31.
"One of the individuals involved has been identified as a 16-year-old school student, while the identity of the other man has yet to be established.
"The motive for the incident is still under investigation, and police are tracking down all those involved in the fight," he said in a statement on Sunday (Aug 2).
ACP Lim said the Klang Selatan district police headquarters' Criminal Investigation Department has opened an investigation under Section 160 of the Penal Code for affray, which carries a jail term of up to six months, a fine of up to RM1,000, or both upon conviction.
"The case is also being investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for the improper use of network facilities or network services, which carries a jail term of up to one year or a fine upon conviction.
"We urge anyone with information on the case to come forward to assist in the investigation.
