QuickCheck: Is Bomba being impersonated in fake procurement letters?

WHEN it comes to dealing with new clients or receiving new orders, it is logical that many businesses would prefer to deal with the government and its agencies due to their stability and reliability in honouring the contracts made.

As such, it would be logical for unscrupulous parties to impersonate government agencies to entice businesses to enter into "deals" which are in fact scams.

It had been claimed that the Fire and Rescue Department was being impersonated in fake procurement letters. Is this true?

VERDICT:

TRUE

The Department said in a statement on its official social media accounts that it was indeed being impersonated in procurement letters.

"Do not be fooled by these offers misusing the name of the Fire and Rescue Department. Get confirmation first from the national headquarters or the fire stations involved," it said.
