A VIRAL video uploaded to Facebook on Saturday (Dec 25) claims to show the driver of a white car being stopped at a police roadblock.

Did the police stop a drunk driver in the early hours of Christmas Day as alleged?

In a statement issued on Sunday (Dec 26), City Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Asst Comm Sarifudin Mohd Salleh said that a drunk driver was stopped at a roadblock conducted as part of "Op Khas Ambang Krismas" at Jalan Duta Kiara at about 1.10am on Saturday.

He added that the driver had tried to evade the roadblock and that police personnel had chased his car down and brought him to the roadblock where his alcohol levels were found to be higher than permitted levels.

ACP Sarifudin then said that the driver was then brought to the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Police station at Jalan Bandar, where he was arrested.
