PN leadership to address internal rift, Melaka polls strategy at Sunday meeting

PETALING JAYA: Perikatan Nasional will confront its internal issues, including matters involving Bersatu, at a supreme council meeting on Sunday night (Oct 25), says Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

The Perikatan information chief said notices had been issued to all component parties and their respective representatives to attend the meeting.

“It is better for us to face each other at the meeting, discuss the responsibilities of the component parties and establish what our actual consensus is. We must face these issues head-on,” he said in a Facebook posting on Saturday (Oct 24).

Annuar said it was important for the parties to meet face-to-face to discuss their responsibilities, establish a consensus and determine the coalition’s position on the issues.

"The judicial review issue and the Melaka state election will also certainly be discussed, and we will make decisions.

"Let's grab the bull by the horns," said Annuar.

On Friday (Oct 23), the High Court stayed the suspension and deregistration imposed on Perikatan Nasional by the Registrar of Societies (ROS), pending the disposal of a judicial review filed by the coalition.

High Court judge Justice Azizan Md Arshad said the relief sought by Perikatan was allowed until the disposal of a substantive hearing on the judicial review, where Perikatan is challenging the ROS’s action.

This means Perikatan is able to carry out political activities, including contesting in the Melaka state election on Nov 14.
