Perikatan ready to use component party logos if ROS bars coalition emblem in Melaka, says Takiyuddin

PETALING JAYA: Perikatan Nasional is prepared to use the logos of its component parties in the Melaka state election if it is not allowed to use its coalition emblem, says Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan.

According to Sinar Harian, the Perikatan secretary-general said the coalition was still awaiting clarification from the Registrar of Societies (ROS) on whether it could use the coalition logo in the polls.

“We have sent a letter to ROS to seek clarification on whether the PN logo can be used in the state election.

“However, we are still waiting for a response and further clarification from the authorities,” he said at a press conference in Kota Bharu on Tuesday (Sept 29).

Takiyuddin said the letter also sought clarification on the nature of a complaint lodged by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) against Perikatan.

The PAS secretary-general said Perikatan could use party logos or any other appropriate emblem, if necessary.

On a proposal for all parties working together to use the Perikatan logo as their official symbol in elections, Takiyuddin said the matter was still being discussed.
