Jealous foreigner breaks into house, stabs two sisters

KUALA LUMPUR: A foreign man armed with a knife broke into a house in Taman Sri Bintang, Kepong and attacked two sisters, injuring both before police arrested the suspect.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Anuar Bakri Abdul Salam said police were alerted to the incident at 5.04am after receiving a call from the public.

"Preliminary investigations found that the suspect was jealous of one of the victims after she reconnected with an ex-boyfriend," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Sept 29).

ACP Anuar said police arrived at the scene and found burn marks outside the house.

"The suspect was found in an upstairs room armed with a knife, while the two siblings, who are Malaysian citizens, were found hiding in a downstairs bathroom," he added.

He said police managed to apprehend the suspect and seized the weapon.

The victims and suspect, who had been stabbed and injured, were taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment.

He added both victims are in their 20s, and one had a previous relationship with the suspect.

The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means and Section 435 of the Penal Code for committing mischief by fire or explosive substance.
