MELAKA: A former senior officer of a Federal government department has been remanded for four days over false claims of about RM3,000.
Magistrate Sharda Shienha Mohd Suleiman granted the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) application at the Magistrate's Court at Ayer Keroh here on Tuesday (Sept 29).
The remand order runs until Friday (Oct 2).
The woman, a former civil servant in her 40s, is suspected of submitting documents containing false particulars to claim payment for programme management services in February 2025, while she was still serving in the department.
MACC officers believe the work was not carried out as stated in the claim.
She was arrested at about 4pm on Monday (Sept 28) after going to the Melaka MACC office to give a statement.
Melaka MACC director Datuk Adi Supian Shafie confirmed the arrest when contacted and said the case was being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.
