PETALING JAYA: The Prisons Department is expected to release the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Datuk Seri Najib Razak's house arrest soon.
Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar said the SOPs will detail aspects of visitations, control and monitoring of the former Prime Minister's movements.
"I was made to understand that there will be an SOP released for the purpose of house arrest," he said.
Mohd Dusuki also reiterated that Najib must pay the RM50mil fine at the Kuala Lumpur High Court Registrar's office before the house arrest process can proceed.

On Friday (Sept 18), His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, granted Najib a conditional pardon, allowing him to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest until Aug 23, 2028, provided he fulfils all specified conditions.
The decision was made during the 64th meeting of the Federal Territories Pardons Board on Friday.
Najib, 73, has been serving his prison sentence at Kajang Prison since Aug 23, 2022.
The conviction for which he is currently serving his sentence involves the misappropriation of funds belonging to SRC International Sdn Bhd, while cases related to 1MDB are still undergoing trial and appeal proceedings.

On Sept 11, the media reported that the Federal Territories Pardons Board had met to consider, among other matters, Najib's application for a pardon in relation to his conviction in the SRC case.
However, the board subsequently deferred consideration of Najib's pardon application to its next meeting.
The Federal Territories Pardons Board is chaired by the King and also comprises the Attorney-General, the minister responsible for the Federal Territories, and three other members appointed by His Majesty.
