PETALING JAYA: Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has urged Malaysians to continue strengthening unity, cherishing the peace and harmony the country enjoys, and fostering tolerance and mutual respect regardless of race, religion or culture.
In his Malaysia Day 2026 message, His Royal Highness hoped the meaningful occasion would always be remembered as a symbol of national unity that brings together the people of Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak as one sovereign nation.
"His Royal Highness always prays that this spirit of togetherness will continue to be upheld by the people in safeguarding the country’s wellbeing, so that Malaysia remains peaceful, prosperous and united for present and future generations," the Selangor Royal Office said in a message on Facebook on Wednesday (Sept 16).
In the same post, the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin also extended her Malaysia Day 2026 greetings to all Malaysians.
"Happy Malaysia Day, Malaysia," Her Royal Highness said.
