IPOH: Efforts are intensifying to locate two firemen who remain missing in Nepal, says Nga Kor Ming.
The Housing and Local Government Minister urged Malaysians to pray for the safety and well-being of the two “Wira Merah”, hoping that they will be found safe.
The two officers – special task force member Mohd Fakhrul Munir Mohd Isa and senior officer Mohd Sani Harul – are among Malaysians who remain uncontactable in Nepal.
Mohd Fakhrul Munir is also a professional climber.
Nga said the ministry and the department are maintaining close contact with the families of the two men and will convey all the latest information once received.
“Our hearts remain with them. We continue to pray every moment for their safety. Both are among our outstanding personnel,” he told reporters after launching the three-day “Jom Makan Ipoh 2026 Expo” here on Saturday night.
Nga, who is Kepayang assemblyman, said the event would be added into the Tourism Perak’s calendar and that they would try to establish Jom Makan Ipoh as one of the city’s distinctive brands.
He said the event also promoted environmental sustainability, with food waste collected at a central collection point to be turned into fertiliser.
He said the initiative was part of efforts to promote the circular economy.
“We are using Jom Makan Ipoh as a platform,” he said.
