BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been conferred the Darjah Kerabat Laila Utama Yang Amat Dihormati (DK) by the Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.

The award carries the title Dato Laila Utama.

The investiture ceremony was held during a meeting at Cheradi Laila Kenchana, Istana Nurul Iman, here, witnessed by the Crown Prince of Brunei, Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah.

Also present were Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

Anwar and the Malaysian delegation arrived at Istana Nurul Iman at about 11am yesterday, reported Bernama.

Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and Anwar are also expected to witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on disaster management cooperation.

Anwar arrived here for a two-day working visit to attend the 27th Annual Leaders’ Consultation (ALC-27) between Malaysia and Brunei.
