Death of Rocky: No signs of gathering at court complex, situation calm

KLANG: There was no sign of any gathering or protest at the Sessions Court here Thursday (Aug 20) morning as proceedings related to the death of a dog named Rocky were set to take place.

As of 8am on Thursday, the situation around the court remained calm and orderly.

The situation was in line with Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar’s advice for the public not to hold any gatherings related to the case and to allow the legal process to take its course.

Earlier, a 24-year-old man and a woman in her 40s, believed to be Rocky’s owners, were expected to face charges at two separate courts Thursday.

The charges against the man are scheduled to be read out at 9am before Judge Mujib Saroji, while the woman is expected to face another charge before Magistrate A. Karthiyayini.

The case involving Rocky’s death attracted widespread attention after a video related to the incident at Taman Telok Gedong Indah on July 29 went viral on social media.

Police have previously urged all parties to allow investigations and legal proceedings to take their course and not turn the case into a racial issue.
