Bahrain GP: RM200 Madani tickets sold out, says Youth and Sports Minister

TEMERLOH: Madani tickets priced from as low as RM200 for the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2026 at Sepang International Circuit (SIC) from Oct 2 to 4 have sold out, says Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari.

The Youth and Sports Minister said SIC had reported strong demand from Malaysians after ticket sales were opened to the public.

“As of today, the Madani tickets have been fully sold, but we will also see whether there is room and a need for additional Madani tickets and so on.

"We will make announcements from time to time,” he told reporters after the closing ceremony of Innovation Development Through Educational Activities (iDEA’26) and the 2026 East Zone Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) roadshow by the Youth and Sports Ministry’s Skills Training Institutions (ILKBS) at Dewan Tun Razak here Monday (Aug 17).

Meanwhile, Mohammed Taufiq said iDEA’26 is not merely an innovation competition platform, but also an avenue to develop TVET students’ ideas, creativity and expertise, with the potential for commercialisation in the local, Asean and international markets.

“Their products should be marketed and not stop at winning competitions. We will assess and see how these products can be further developed, including through improvements, before they can be marketed nationwide,” he said.

He also said the Youth and Sports Ministry was strengthening the national TVET agenda through 12 memoranda of understanding signed between skills training institutions and industry strategic partners to create more employment opportunities for young people.

“That is the purpose of iDEA’26 — not merely to win competitions, but to develop innovation, create products with market value and produce new talent in the country,” he said. — Bernama
